Bill Hayes, a long-time star on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” has passed away at the age of 98. Hayes played Doug Williams, the husband to Julie Williams, played by his real-life wife Seaforth Hayes, and father to Hope Williams, one half of the legendary “Days of Our Lives” supercouple Bo and Hope. He first appeared on the daytime soap opera in February 1970 and appeared in over 2,100 episodes. His last appearance as Williams was on the December 22 episode last month.
The show debuted in 1965 and expressed its heartfelt condolences to Hayes’ family.
