Former American football quarterback Daunte Rachard Culpepper (born January 28, 1977) He most recently played for the United Football League’s Sacramento Mountain Lions (UFL). Culpepper had a great NFL career before joining the UFL, having been chosen 11th overall in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of the University of Central Florida football team. Culpepper, a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Vikings, had a remarkable 2004 season in which he established a single-season record for total yards generated by a quarterback in NFL history, which has since been broken (5,123).
The next season, though, Culpepper sustained a severe knee injury that terminated his Vikings career. Since then, he has played for the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions on a part-time basis. Culpepper’s career passer rating (87.8) is 14th all-time in the NFL, and he has the ninth highest single-season quarterback rating from his 2004 season (110.9). Culpepper has volunteered with the African American Adoption Agency outside of football. He organises the Daunte Culpepper AAAA Celebrity Golf Tournament every year and has also spoken at the United Way’s Reason To Be Thankful event as a keynote speaker.
