Yellowstone finally reunited one of the show’s most beloved couples! The latest episode of the Paramount Network hit series brought Kayce and Monica back together, and fans were celebrating the joyous reunion on social media. Spoilers ahead of Yellowstone Season 2, Episode 7, “Resurrection Day.”
Monica and Kayce’s relationship has been at the center of the series from the start. With her being a longtime resident of the Broken Rock reservation married to John Dutton’s son, their relationship went through many ups and downs in Season 1 at the heat of the Chief’s feud with John.
Kayce is constantly struggling – he is fighting with himself and finds it difficult to freely talk to Monica. So far into the second season though, there has been little progress on their relationship even though the couple is moving on with their individual lives.
Mostly the issues stem from Kayce being secretive for the sake of Monica, but Monica just wants to be in the know with her husband. Sometimes she will reprimand Kayce for taking a lif e, but at the same time, she also has that dark side that made Kayce promise he would kill whoever stole Tate from them.
What happened to Monica in Season 1?
The tension reached a serious climax late in Season 1 when Monica was injured and almost died, sustaining injuries that she is still dealing with today.
In the midst of the drama, Kayce got a call from his estranged wife, saying she wanted to hear his voice in the moment. Kayce, who had in the previous episode stopped by and begged Monica to take him back, was overjoyed to get the call and exclaimed how much he missed her.

After weeks of will-they, won’t-they, and one failed hookup, Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and Kayce (Luke Grimes) finally got back together. The reunion was not as much of a surprise to fans, who saw last week as Monica could not go through with a hookup with her physical therapist as she was still in love with her estranged husband.
The episode did not stop the celebration there, as the Kayce and Monica made their reunion official with a steamy love scene set to Kacey Musgraves’ “Slow Burn” just before the episode turned to tragedy.
