Brandy Stallworth was at a funeral home in Guthrie with loved ones living a mother’s worst nightmare — making arrangements to bury all three of her children.

“She’s keeping it together. She’s handling it the best she can,” family friend Randy Mercado said.

Early Sunday morning, 26-year-old Barkley Simpson, her 25-year-old brother Fidel Simpson and their youngest brother, 26-year-old Dariashawn Simpson died in a single-vehicle crash in Payne County.

“Yesterday was Fidel’s birthday, and they were out eating dinner and stuff,” Mercado said. “(They were) coming home, coming back to their mom’s house.”

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said the siblings were traveling on Western Road near State Highway 33 near Perkins when the vehicle Fidel Simpson was driving hit a ditch. The car hit a tree, and all three siblings died at the scene, officials said.

“Fidel went into the Marine Corps, did six years in the Marine Corps. They were really close,” Mercado said.

The three graduated from Coyle High School and did everything together, Mercado said. Now, their family is preparing to bury them together.

“You just don’t know. Never take anything for granted,” Mercado said.
