The Round Lake Beach community has come together to raise funds for the family of Alexis Coria, an 18-year-old who died in a motorcycle crash on Monday, April 10th.
Coria was riding his motorcycle when he crashed into a sports utility vehicle at the intersection of Ferndale Drive and Cedar Lake Road.
He was pronounced dead at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after the ambulance took him there.
The fundraising campaign for Coria’s family has been set up by Omar Medrano, a friend of Alexis for the past 18 years.
The GoFundMe campaign will help the Coria family pay for funeral expenses.
So far, the campaign has raised $3,200. Medrano described Alexis as an amazing person with a huge heart.

Alexis Coria was a beloved member of the Round Lake Beach community.
According to Omar Medrano, he was a great friend and someone who loved playing video games and going on motorcycle rides. The news of his death came as a shock to his family and friends, who are now grieving the loss of someone they loved deeply.
The Accident
The accident that claimed Alexis’s life took place at around 2:38 p.m. on Monday, April 10th.
According to authorities, Alexis was riding his motorcycle south on Cedar Lake Road when he collided with a 2008 Saturn sports utility vehicle at the intersection of Ferndale Drive.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the accident. Alexis was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville by ambulance, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Fundraiser
The community of Round Lake Beach has rallied together to support Alexis’s family during this difficult time.
The GoFundMe campaign that Omar Medrano set up has received donations from many people who knew and loved Alexis.
