We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Janice Hall-Matteo, who was held in high esteem by all of us, and it is with a sense of loss that we do so. In the same way that it has affected each and every one of you, our loss has placed us in a state of total and absolute devastation.
Janice was a wonderful wife to Jim, a mother to Juliet and Nick, a daughter to Tom and Carol, a sister to Deborah, a stepmother to Maria and Melissa, and a great friend to all of us. Nick and Juliet were her children by her first marriage. In addition to that, she took on the role as stepmother to Maria and Melissa.
stepchildren, Nick and Maria, were Maria and Nick. She was cherished and adored by both her immediate family and by her extended family as well. She was a bright light in each of our lives, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of love and the expressions of support that we have received in response to her passing.
Due of the suddenness with which Janice passed away, there was no opportunity to make any pre-departure arrangements. We are asking for donations to pay for the expenses related with her service, medical expenses, and other expenses so that Jim and their children are allowed to grieve without the additional stress of an additional financial burden.
People will always remember Janice as an engaged member of the community who generously devoted both her time and money to organizations in which she had a strong belief. This aspect of her character will live on in their memories forever.
You could always find her providing a hand by acting as a volunteer with groups such as the Columbia County Animal Rescue, the Construction Industry, and the Columbia River Mental Health Services. She was always willing to help others (just to name a few).
Whenever she had the opportunity, she made the most of her time by traveling on new experiences, going to concerts, and spending time with the people she cared about most, including her family and her friends.
