Mike was afflicted with stomach cancer not long after he left Toyota. His cancer went into remission when he had his stomach removed.

Christopher Michael Images, which Mike co-founded with his photographic partner this past summer, was named the “Best Photographers in Lexington” by the Herald-Leader, and Mike hasn’t looked back since.

But on September 6th, Mike found out that the cancer had returned, this time in the Peritoneal cavity. Mike’s inability to work is further exacerbated by his current round of chemotherapy. Mike is married to an amazing woman, and they have three lovely girls.

More than two years have passed since Cyrus’s diagnosis with an incurable disease. He was a racing car driver, a member of the Toyota team, and most recently a photographer. Cyrus’s stomach was removed because of a cancer diagnosis.

GoFundMe

The family has started a GoFundMe that has been quite helpful.

“It’s helped me with my copays,” he remarked. On July 22 I establish this studio, sinking every last dime into it; on September 1 I get the devastating news that I have cancer and will never be able to work again. We would have been in serious trouble if not for GoFundMe.

GoFundMe may be accessed via Mike Cyrus’s Facebook page. The family has collected almost $22,000, surpassing their initial target of $20,000. They are now hoping to reach $25,000.
