Former West Ham United footballer Antonio Valencia has played for Ecuador since 2012 in international leagues. In 15 appearances, the exceptional player has eight goals.

He also scored three goals while playing for Ecuador in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Enner further won the Copa Sudamericana Golden Boot in 2013 and the Liga MX Golden Boot in 2014.

Enner, the 33-year-old outstanding player for Ecuador, got the moniker “Superman.” He has scored the most goals for the national squad.

Is Enner Valencia related to Antonio Valencia?

Ecuador’s San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas, is where Enner Valencia was born. Remberto Valencia and Bolivia Lastra welcomed him into the world in November 1989. He is of Afro-Ecuadorian descent. Ericka and Erci Valencia are the player’s sisters and brothers.

Despite having a similar last name, Antonio Valencia, who was also a member of the Ecuador national team, is not related to Enner Valencia, the captain and outstanding player for Ecuador.

Coincidentally, both of them rose to prominence as national team captains for Ecuador. Enner and Antonio each played a separate position on the pitch. While Antonio, who is now retired, used to play in midfield and on defense, Enner is a forward/striker.
