Regina King is an American actress born in Los Angeles, California on January 15, 1971. 

She is most known for her portrayal of Mary Jenkins’ (Marla Gibbs’) studious daughter,  Brenda Jenkins, on the classic 1980s sitcom 227, as well as her critically lauded supporting role in the feature film Jerry Maguire. 

King’s acting career began in 1985 with part on the television series 227, which she portrayed until 1990. She later appeared in John Singleton’s films Boyz the Hood (1991),  Poetic Justice (1993), and Higher Learning (1996). 

She rose to prominence in  1996 as co-star in romantic comedy Jerry Maguire, alongside Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding, Jr.

In her performance as Marcee Tidwell, the wife of Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character, King gained widespread notoriety.

She is one of the biggest actresses to ever grace the Hollywood screens.
