The man slain in a shooting last week outside the Badger Tavern on Madison’s southwest side has been identified by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
At the scene of the early Friday morning gunshot in the 1600 block of Seminole Highway, Madison resident Jason Pritchard, 44, passed away. He died as a result of wounds he received in the shooting, according to preliminary postmortem findings, the medical examiner’s office reported.
A 23-year-old man was reportedly taken into custody at the site in connection with the shooting, according to the Madison Police Department. A gun was also found at the site by the police.

The incident is still under investigation by police, however department officials earlier stated that Pritchard and the alleged shooter were strangers and that security footage did not depict any physical altercations between the two men.
The alleged shooter was not formally charged as of Tuesday afternoon.
