Fashion designer and bon vivant Jon Haggins passed away on June 15 at his Queens residence.
Haggins rose to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his sinuous, sensual designs, but he struggled with money and repeatedly reinvented himself, most recently as the host of a travel show on cable television. He was 79.
Chee Chee Williams, a friend and former broadcast journalist, confirmed the death but stated that the cause remained unknown. In late May, Mr. Haggins collapsed and shattered his hip while on vacation in Greece with Ms. Williams and other people.
