Roger Stone says it’s a miracle he wasn’t hurt Wednesday afternoon when the luxury SUV he rode to a television appearance near Memphis, Tenn., was violently hit by another vehicle.
Two bodyguards in the car with Stone, Donald Trump’s political consultant and confidante, suffered minor cuts from flying glass.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Stone said the black late-model Ford Expedition where he was a passenger on the back seat was t-boned by a pickup truck that, according to Stone, failed to stop at a red light.
Stone said he was on his way to host The Stone Zone, his daily political show that airs on the television stations of Conservative My Pillow pitchman and fellow Trump associate Mike Lindell.
The accident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. in Germantown, Tenn., a suburb of Memphis.
While he lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the 70-year-old Stone was in Tennessee for TV appearances on Lindell’s network during coverage of the midterm elections.
Stone said he’s lucky the pickup truck hit the Ford on the front of the passenger’s side instead of the back.
‘Another second and just five feet, and the pickup truck would’ve hit my door,’ he said. ‘It’s a miracle.
‘It’s one of five miracles in my life. The first was when the president (Trump) commuted my sentence; the second was when the president granted me an unconditional pardon at Christmas 2020; the third is that my wife is cancer free 18 months after undergoing treatment for a Stage 4 cancer; and the fourth is that I never left my hotel room during the January 6 events.
‘This crash was my fifth miracle. I don’t know how many I’ve got left.’
Stone said it looked like his SUV was totaled as it attempted to turn left at an intersection where there had been a fender bender minutes earlier.
‘That guy came out of nowhere through the red light at 50 miles per hour,’ Stone said.
