Before transferring to Ligue 1 club Nice in 2013, Benrahma began his career with the Algerian team NRB Bethioua.

Even though he made his professional football debut under Claude Puel during the 2013–14 season, he primarily played for the reserve team.

Benrahma joined the team in July 2018 for an undisclosed sum that was reported as £2.7 million. He scored his first goal for the team in a 4-2 EFL Cup thriller with  Southend.

Six weeks later, during a 2-2 draw with Reading, he committed two bookable offenses and was thus dismissed for the first time in his Bees career.

In a substitute appearance against Senegal in October 2015, Benrahma made his Algerian debut. He was called up to the Algerian team for two World Cup qualifying matches, but he did not play.
