Is Rachel Maddow Leaving MSNBC?
Rachel Maddow, who has hosted her popular show on MSNBC for over 14 years, is calling it quits. It’s become the network’s most-watched show, frequently drawing over 2 million viewers.
The show goes head-to-head with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on most evenings (CNN remains a distant third). Ratings dropped during Maddow’s absence earlier this year, as expected.

MSNBC has yet to name a permanent host to take Maddow’s spot at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The show will be renamed MSNBC Prime on those nights, indicating that Maddow’s relocation is permanent.
