CBS has renewed veteran Friday night crime drama Blue Bloods for a 13th season, taking it through the spring of 2023. Comparatively, this will make the Tom Selleck ensemble vehicle the longest-running traditional (non-forensics) crime-solver in the history of the network—now ahead of the original Hawaii Five-O, which aired from 1968 to 1980.

CBS has renewed Blue Bloods season 13 as a result of its consistently strong ratings. The police procedural series, which is the third longest-running CBS scripted show behind NCIS and its spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles, originally premiered on the network on September 24, 2010.
