Jame Ward is a professional football player. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Ward attended Davidson High School in Mobile, Alabama. As a senior, he led the Warriors in tackles with 101, including 73 solo stops as Davidson went 10-3 and moved to the state playoffs.

He was also named the defensive MVP of the team.. Ward recorded 93 tackles, seven pass breakups, and five interceptions as a junior. He also recorded two forced fumbles and two stopped kicks.

He was rated as a two-star prospect by some college scouts and recruitment agencies. He committed to playing college football at Northern Illinois University.  From 2010 through 2013, Ward studied at Northern Illinois University.

During his first season with Northern Illinois, Ward participated in all 14 games while also blocking a school-record three punts. He was voted the Huskies’ Special Teams Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. He also had 21 tackles, caused a fumble, and broke up a pass.
